Leeds Executive Leadership Apprenticeship 

The Leeds Executive Leadership Apprenticeship is a work-based apprenticeship programme for senior managers, delivered by the Leeds University Business School (LUBS).

Whether you’re looking to develop your leadership skills, understand the latest management concepts, or strengthen your ability to lead change, this programme combines practical learning with expert insights to help you drive organisational success. 

Who is it for? 

  • Colleagues working in management roles with responsibility for teams, people, budgets or other areas of organisational accountability. 
  • At the University of Leeds, this is typically suited to colleagues in Grade 6 roles and above. 
  • Applicants will need at least three years’ leadership experience to apply. 
  • An undergraduate degree is not required to apply. 

Programme details: 

Supported by employers, the programme is funded via the apprenticeship levy. This 18-month programme leads to a Level 7 qualification (equivalent to a master’s degree) from the Leeds University Business School. It covers key leadership topics across seven learning blocks, with assessments after each: 

  • Strategy for Business Leaders  
  • Finance for Practice    
  • Managing Change and Innovation  
  • Management Decision Making  
  • Positive Leadership  
  • Digital Business Transformation  
  • Ethics and Sustainability
