Become a mentor or mentee on the University-Wide Mentoring Scheme, available to all staff at Leeds. It is mutually beneficial and allows colleagues to share knowledge and skills with others, supporting them to achieve their individual objectives.
Mentoring partnerships are set up in May and November and you can apply for the scheme at any time throughout the year.
Each mentoring pairing will agree on the frequency and time spent, but as a guide, we recommend typically 90 minutes per month should be considered for an effective experience. Our Mentoring FAQs webpage has more information about the scheme and how it works and what you can expect.
Mentors and mentees are provided with a range of resources to support them in the scheme and to get the most out of the experience - this includes our Preparing for Mentorship workshops. In September 2023 we made some changes to the scheme to enhance your experience as a mentor and mentee.
